Yousician

Technologies: C#, Unity, UniRx

Yousician is a music education company with the goal of making musicality as common as literacy. Their namesake app, Yousician, is designed to help guide and teach players of all skill levels how to play and master instruments through a hand-crafted syllabus. Artist partnerships get players closer to their favorite artists and songs, learning from the masters themselves.

Over the past 4 years, I worked as a Unity and C# developer at Yousician on features and in-app purchases for the Yousician app. I was deeply involved in promotional campaigns (Black Friday, Christmas), retention features (Streaks, Song Voting), and integrating and maintaining payment APIs and associated internal tools and services. I often took the initiative to help with tasks such as testing to reduce bottlenecks in meeting deadlines and quarterly targets, or improving internal tools to make developer lives easier. Other key responsibilities included working closely with product managers, designers and artists, regular code reviews, writing quality tests, documentation, and helping other internal teams in my areas of expertise around in-app payments and the codebase.

Showcase

An animation I implemented for a daily login bonus feature. The animation was initially intended to be simple, but I worked on it further on my own and presented this one to the designer, who had a very positive impression.

The conversion carousel I worked on, which is presented to users at critical conversion points encouraging them to purchase subscriptions to enhance their learning path.

A dynamic scrollable timeline as part of the Streaks feature I worked on. You can tap/click on each week to see your stats for that week.

A Time Travel feature that allows fixing a broken streak. A preview is shown for how the week will look once fixed before spending your Time Travel token.
