Yousician is a music education company with the goal of making musicality as common as literacy. Their namesake app, Yousician, is designed to help guide and teach players of all skill levels how to play and master instruments through a hand-crafted syllabus. Artist partnerships get players closer to their favorite artists and songs, learning from the masters themselves.
I am on the Monetization team for Yousician as the sole app developer. My responsibilities involve maintaining our cross-platform app payment infrastructure across iTunes and Google Play. This includes adding features and making changes to account for new operating system versions. Our payment infrastructure included some native iOS patches run on top of the Unity IAP plugin, which I kept a close eye on to identify potential fixes to issues our users were experiencing.
In addition, I frequently collaborate with my multi-disciplinary team, including backend, designers, and the product manager. On top of resolving support issues involving payments, I implement new conversion screens to increase user retention and reduce churn. These conversion screens include variants for promotional offers, such as Black Friday and holiday sales. I am involved in the planning stages of these sales and look into new technologies we can introduce from iTunes and Google Play, such as offer codes, to increase user subscriptions and reduce technical debt.
At times, I also act as a copywriter relating to payment and conversion screens.
